Election News
The first Presidential election under the new Constitution has begun, with three candidates vying for the top job and the ability to appoint a new Judiciary. Remember to vote in #voting-booth if you are eligble. The Presidential voting period is 48 hours.
Cow
Former Senate Speaker Cow232 enters the race on the platform of chaos and world domination. The Commewnist party has not put forward a candidate since June 2019, where they ran on no major policy points. Cow has proposed changing the Judicial system so cases are instead decided by who wins in a game. He has also expressed interest in religious wars so long they cause chaos. Cow’s proposed cabinet includes Cabinet members Tahis9, Pizza and the appointment of Jonnymoomoomoo as Vice President.
Maxie
Former President Maxie is running on the platform of Activity and Bosco sticks. The DMGP2: Electric Boogaloo candidate intends on moving Acreau to a more event based server. He plans on strengthening connections with the Owl Archipelago and advertising the server in many locations. Maxie intends to legislate landbird rights, religious bills, and furry hunting, and says he will focus on free bosco stick distribution, imprisoning French people, and serving mandatory bat soup. Maxie promises to appoint a diversified Judiciary, proposing the appointment of KingJulien22, Blackbird58 and Oreo365 as Justiciars. His proposed cabinet features cabinet members Flerpus, Bread and Cow232, and Glaad1234 as Vice President.
Pizza
Former President Pizza has presented his candidacy on the platform of making Acreau based and chad. The Chad party candidate is campaigning on his part in the recent revival of the Server and plans to keep the server active by “constantly fighting DGMP2 for a few months to keep up activity”. Pizza intends on diplomatically isolating Acreau to prevent annexation. He also plans on legislating furry hunting, party-related-laws, and proposing an amendment to replace “congress” with “senate” in the constitution. Pizza has proposed a Judiciary comprising of KingJulien22, Deusexmachina, and Nicholas. His proposed cabinet will be comprised of Secretary of Allah Valerian, Secretary of Memes Ghunt, Secretary of Vibe Flame of Asia and the appointment of Commando98 as his Vice President.
Constitutional News
A newly finished Constitution has been ratified after being unanimously approved by the Constitutional Convention and by the public. The Constitution can be found here.
The new Constitution includes the redefining of citizens to have been on the server for seven consecutive days, akin to the old Representatives requirement. Only citizens may vote in elections, the President may now present Bills and Amendments to the Senate and the Vice President and cabinet may now decide that the President is unfit for Office. The Senate Speaker and Justiciars may no longer hold another office aside from being a Senator and High Justiciar respectively. Bills require Judicial approval now, and the Judiciary may send a passed Amendment back to the Senate for a revote, akin to the House of Lords. There is also dedicated Justiciar referred to as the Electoral Official who is to be in charge of public votes and elections.
Constitutional Delegates had decided to abandon the Constitutional draft written by acting Chairman of the Constitutional Convention KingJulien22. Instead the Delegates revised the second draft of Former President Annui Naur into it’s current form.
Foreign Affairs
Owl Archipelago Attacked

On the 26/27th of October, Emperor Maxime Bernier of Canada declared war on the Owl Archipelago after a border skirmish on the 26/27th. After threatening to overthrow the then non-existent Acreau government, Bernier moved his forces to attack the Owl Archipelago.
The Owl Archipelago had just appointed Hugo Eiola as Comissary the day before. Hugo Eiola leads the police force of the Owl Archipelago, and is a member of Owl Archipelago’s War Council, alongside Chancellor Santiago Baker, General Eduardo Bragança and the Leader of the Owlian Youth Joana Ramalho Pontes. However as of writing, the council has not faced their foe in battle yet.

The Acreau Times believes that a more stable and known Executive should be elected to smoothen the election period, as a more controversial President will clash with the ever-independent Senate, no matter the iteration. Also appointing inactive citizens to the Justiciar who are not familiar with the Constitution and Precedence looks, smells and sounds like a disaster in waiting. Maxie’s proposed Judiciary and Cabinet contains the experience and activeness to enable the transition period where nearly everything is legal and laws will need to be written and passed quickly.
The Acreau Times also firmly believes that only Oreo365 is a viable candidate for the High Justiciar role, as his impartialness is second to none.
