Coup by Former President
On the 16/17th of September, former President KingJulien22 forcibly retook Acreau in the name of peace and order. KingJulien justified his coup with the alleged illegality of the Constitution written by Flerpus and introduced to the public by Former Judge ArinHolmes’ alt. He also referenced the “evil and convulated system” of the Judiciary and Senator Cow232’s failed rebellion in January. Upon his coup, KingJulien reinstated the original Constitution, which is linked here.
There are reports that multiple high ranking stakeholders had agreed to plan for an event to restart activity in Acreau. This included the President and Senate Speaker at the time, however KingJulien had enacted his coup before they could act.
After a recent resurgence of activity, High Justiciar Oreo365 had decided to reinstate KingJulien as the owner of the server. This voided the agreement made in April 2019 that the High Justiciar would hold ownership of the discord server. Sources indicate that KingJulien had promised to make the server active again to convince the Supreme Justiciar to hand over the reins.
Immediately after gaining control, KingJulien removed President Maxie’s President role and all his cabinet’s secretary roles. Former President Flerpus was put under interrogation twice over on charges of Corruption. KingJulien also revoked admin permissions from Justiciars.
Caretaker Government sworn in
On the day of the Coup, KingJulien announced that elections to elect a placeholder government would occur with the sole intention of introducing a new constitution he had written. Senators Commando98, Cow232 and Former President Maxie announced their intention to run for President.
Voting ended with President-Elect Maxie securing a comfortable majority and retaining his office. Per the constitution, runner-up Cow232 was appointed Vice President. As of time of writing, the new government has not acted on anything.
New Constitution drafted
Another Constitution is being written by KingJulien. Current drafts indicate sweeping changes including using EST for day cycles, two day voting periods for Presidential elections, and the ability for Presidents to introduce bills. The Legislative branch is also to become unicameral, with amendments requiring a super-majority and Presidential approval. The newly renamed Justices are to be elected for life and the three members of the new Judicial branch may unanimously block non-judicial impeachment proceedings.
KingJulien has started a Constitution convention to debate and discuss the draft, and has appointed Justiciar Tahis9, Former President Flerpus, High Justiciar Oreo365, Former President Annui Naur, Former Senator Glaad1234, Vice President cow232, President Maxie, Senator Blackbird58, citizen Monster_Duck and himself as delegates for said convention. Owl Archipelago Constitution passed

Having recently emerged from civil war, our diplomatic ally the Nation of Owl Archipelago (OA) has passed a new Constitution creating a parliamentary democracy.
In June, the OA plunged into civil war after Prime Minister Miguel Ramalho Pontes (MiguelM) declared the monarchy abolished and instituted a dictatorship and a new Constitution.
Several resistance organisations were formed; the Owlian Republican Movement, the Restoration Front and the Social Party. Acknowledging their political differences, the three factions agreed to a truce as they fought the dictatorship. The Republicans advocated for the implementation of a Presidential system. The other two factions’ goal was to “restore the monarchy and its values”.
The dictatorship quickly collapsed, and the republicans declared the formation of the Republic of Owl Archipelago. However the two monarchist factions combined and declared the Kingdom of Owl Archipelago, continuing the civil war. These two factions clashed and fought as the former Monarch D. Eduardo de Terra Nova (EdSwordsmith) remained in exile.
After two months of fighting, a peace deal was brokered and the King returned. As a result, the Constitutional Monarchy was reinstated through a new Constitution.

Vrass fails to revitalise
Adminstrator KingJulien22 recently held a poll asking voters in Vrass if they wanted another election. The considerably small turnout led to KingJulien deleting the poll and to proceed to not hold any new elections.

A word from KingJulien
Following a long reign of folly, corruption and abuse, we managed to put control back in the hands of the people! I believe that we can work towards a better Acreau, a new Acreau.
It may have essentially been a coup, but I decided to clear all charges and let the old government go unscathed, even with the crimes they had committed.
I believe it was for the choice for a United, active front.
Editorial
Despite their political and personal differences, Flerpus and KingJulien have managed to contribute to and improve the new constitution. We hope that the two can continue to work together to create a better Constitution.
